Dancers from Ballet Arts Studio (Ages 7 to 17) in performance at the Bardavon Opera House

At Ballet Arts Studio, Dance Beacon, and the Dutchess Ballet Company, we know that there is nothing that compares to conservatory-based dance training for teaching children and young adults the meaning of discipline, commitment and hard work--all in the context of the beautiful art form that is dance. The value of our programs is measured each and every day, when the students see the physical results of that discipline, commitment and hard work in their own bodies and in their developing artistry.

Founded originally as Ballet Arts Studio, and utilizing a progressive approach to the Vaganova system, our programs have grown to include the Dutchess Ballet Company, focussing on professional-level performance experiences as a means to personal and artistic development, and Dance Beacon, which focuses on community-based performance activities and experiences.

Ballet Arts Studio, Dance Beacon and Dutchess Ballet Company programs center around a complete approach to learning, individual growth, and talent and artistic development. Ballet Arts Studio, Dance Beacon and Dutchess Ballet Company faculty nurture positive attitudes and attributes in students so that each may fully
develop their personal and creative potential. Welcome to Ballet Arts
Studio, the Dutchess Ballet Company
and Dance Beacon, where children of all
ages experience personal and artistic transformation.

Sincerely,
Alex Bloomstein
Artistic Director

"My eleven year old daughter has studied at Ballet Arts Studio in Beacon for eight years. She has blossomed as a dancer, as well as an individual. Ballet Arts is a wonderfully safe place where my daughter has made friends and created mentor relationships with the faculty. We have been pleased to be a part of the amazing opportunities that Ballet Arts Studio has provided—wonderful performances in this area, as well as at a venue in New York City!!"

"We discovered Ballet Arts Studio three years ago when my daughter, Lianna, was 11 years old. Transitioning to a new program can be difficult, but at Ballet Arts we were delighted to feel so welcome and to enjoy individual attention from talented, professional and caring teachers. Since starting training at Ballet Arts, I have been thrilled with my daughter’s growth as a dancer. Her renewed dedication and commitment is remarkable, and she looks forward to another amazing year as a dancer member of the Dutchess Ballet Company. Our experience at Ballet Arts continues to be enriching and rewarding; we are very fortunate to have this extraordinary resource within our reach!"

On May 30th, 2009, Ballet Arts Studio, together with The Dutchess Ballet Company, proudly presented Mozart Minuets & More at the Bardavon Opera House on May 30th, 2009.
In Mozart Minuets & More, Ballet Arts' students were featured in dances to minuet and contredance compositions by legendary composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which highlighted the classical and conservatory-level ballet training featured at Ballet Arts Studio. The program also featured the Dutchess Ballet Company in the premiere of Suite Shostakovich, a ballet by world-renowned Principal Danseur and choreographer Michael Shannon, which was set to the waltzes of Dmitri Shostakovich. Mr. Shannon teaches at Ballet Arts Studio and is Resident Choreographer for the Dutchess Ballet Company.

"My daughter Logan has been studying at Ballet Arts Studio for nine years. During that time, it has been wonderful how she has developed into a graceful, poised and beautiful dancer. All of her teachers--being former professionals--are fully aware of the dedication, commitment and perseverance required of serious dance students. I would highly recommend Ballet Arts to anyone who is interested in a nurturing dance environment that teaches even the youngest dancers proper technique, artistry and form, and most importantly, to love the art form that is dance."
